Radio Macomb's Athletes of the Week

Macomb High School Athlete of the Week is:
(Fr.) Shannon Bauerly (Track & Field). Shannon qualifed for the Class A state girl's track and field meet in the 100-meter dash. Shannon's time in the Sectionals of 13.54 seconds enabled her to participate in the state track meet.

B-PC/Avon Spartan Athlete of the Week is:
(Jr.) Shelby McAvoy (Softball). In the Spartans final regular season softball game, Shelby went 3-3 and scored each time in the 10-0 win over Monmouth-Roseville. McAvoy also knocked in two runs for B-PC/A, who finished the regular season with a 21-6 record.

West Prairie Cyclone Athlete of the Week is:
(Sr.) Ashley Payne (Track & Field). The senior qualified for the state track & field meet as a member of BPCA/WP at the Sectionals with a discus throw of 107'2".

92X WKXQ Athlete of the Week is:
(Sr.) Erin Ealy (Track & Field). Erin was one of several state qualifiers for the Lady Rockets. Ealy ran a 15.54 seconds time in the 100-high hurdles at the Sectionals to qualify for the state meet.

High School Baseball & Softball ON THE AIR
It's been a wacky and wet spring for local baseball and softball teams. As the nice weather finally hits, our broadcast schedule has ramped up with the postseason nearly upon us. Here is our broadcast schedule (tentative). Times are pre-game starts.

Sci Hickenbottom Benefit Planned
A benefit for former Carthage Bluegirl basketball assistant coach Sci Hickenbottom has been scheduled for Saturday June 7th at the Eagles Club in Carthage. Sci suffered a head trauma accident and January and will require a great deal of therapy. The benefit begins at 2:00 with a Hog Roast and sides at 3:00. An auction starts at 4:00 and music and entertainment begins at 8:00.
